Susy Cheston

Chief of Party, Financial Inclusion

Susy Cheston is Chief of Party, Financial Inclusion, for the World Council of Credit Unions, working to increase SME lending for millions of credit union members through the USAID CDP Technology and Innovation for Financial Inclusion program.

Prior to her role at the World Council, Susy led a global financial inclusion initiative for the Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion; oversaw economic and agricultural development for World Vision; and served in a variety of roles for Opportunity International, including leading women’s economic empowerment initiatives, advocacy, research and product development. She has a strong track record in organizational leadership, strategic development, partnership development, and coalition-building, as well as providing thought leadership through research and writing.  Her publications have focused on women’s economic empowerment, impact assessment, pension inclusion, financial capability and financial health, and inclusive finance by commercial banks and insurance companies.
