The mixed methods multi-country study of the economic and social impacts of cooperatives, titled: “What Difference Do Cooperatives Make?” (WDDCM) was conceived, designed, and executed by the International Cooperative Research Group (ICRG).
What Difference Do Cooperatives Make? Kenya Country Study
The study was piloted in Poland in late 2017 and implemented in Kenya, the Philippines, and Peru from 2019–2020. The Kenya Country Study data and analysis contribute to the four-country-study’s findings, while this stand-alone report offers unique insights from East Africa.

The ICRG carried out this pilot study in Poland as the first in a series of country studies designed to understand the extent to which objective evidence will demonstrate cooperatives provide a sound platform to base broad-based international development for sustainable, locally owned and institutionalized results.
