Cooperatives play a vital role in Morocco’s national economic and social development, and the fight against poverty. During the COVID-19 pandemic, most of Morocco’s 28,000 cooperatives and micro-initiatives halted or slowed their income-generating activities, affecting close to 600,000 members and employees.

The Federation of Producer Cooperatives, or FECOPROD, continues Paraguay’s long-standing tradition of cooperatives. Established in 1975, FECOPROD is a second-level cooperative that aims to promote the economic and social development of agricultural producer cooperatives, and to ensure that their interests are represented within the public and private sector.
