Rural Development Through Cooperatives: Experience from Poland, Ukraine, and Zambia

The International Cooperative Research Group (ICRG), the research and learning arm of the U.S. Overseas Cooperative Development Council (OCDC), recently held a session that focused on cooperatives working in rural environments. This session, held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 9:00-10:00 am ET, was co-hosted by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) International, University of Adam Mickiewicz (UAM) of Poznan, Poland, and their partner from Ukraine. The session explored diverse examples of rural circumstances in Poland, Ukraine, and Zambia, focusing on how cooperatives adapt and innovate to fill market gaps and enable rural communities to meet their own needs through the aggregation of their resources.
