Ann Wessling

Chief of Party, CDP-AGIL4CU Project

Ann Wessling joined World Council of Credit Unions in October 2023 as Chief of Party for the USAID-CDP-funded Accelerating Growth and Inclusion in Lending for Credit Unions (AGIL4CU) project.

In this role, she provides leadership, technical direction and management oversight for all project activities to achieve objectives, while ensuring compliance with USAID and WOCCU policies and procedures. 

Ms. Wessling has worked as an independent consultant and in a variety of roles for different organizations including CGAP, DANIDA and as Chief of Party for USAID-funded activities. She brings more than 25 years of experience dedicated to fostering financial inclusion, market-systems enhancement, rural development, and bolstering water and sanitation initiatives across Africa. 

Ms. Wessling lived in West Africa (Guinea, Mali, and Senegal) for almost 30 years, and has worked in almost as many countries. Her strengths lie in adeptly leading teams to execute projects with success and fostering continual learning to drive tangible outcomes. She thrives in capacity building, training and mentoring roles, empowering others to drive impactful change. 

Ms. Wessling has a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs with a focus on International Economic Development from the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. 

Ms. Wessling approaches each new challenge with a keen curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement. She is driven by a mission to navigate development complexities and champion impactful change while nurturing sustainable practices.
