Daniela Lopez Echeverri

Program Officer, Global Communities

Daniela is a Program Officer at Global Communities supporting the Cooperative Leadership, Engagement, Advocacy and Research (CLEAR+) program which strengthens the cooperative sector in Guatemala.

She also manages and supports the implementation of projects in Guatemala across a variety of sectors funded by USAID BHA, USDA, and private donors.  

Before joining Global Communities, Daniela served as an International Program Specialist with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) at the U.S. Department of Commerce. She implemented USAID funded technical assistance programs on public procurement with a focus on women’s economic empowerment, sustainability, and transparency in Peru and the Dominican Republic. She worked closely with women’s business associations in the Dominican Republic to organize Expo Mipyme Mujer as well as capacity-building workshops to promote and strengthen the participation of women in the formal economy and in public procurement. 

Prior to CLDP, she served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay where she worked with government counterparts to support agricultural women’s commissions access to technical assistance and farmers markets to promote rural women’s economic development. Daniela received a bachelor’s degree in Global Studies and Geography with a minor in Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
